March is traditionally the snowiest month. This year Mom Nature dumped more than 4-1/2 feet of snow on the resorts. Skiers and riders drool over the ongoing snow storms -- some are big, some just a dusting. But the snow adds up.

And it's not too late to learn to ski or ride for the first time. If you've been putting it off, now is a good time to try the sport. The days are warmer than mid-winter, there's usually music and barbeque on the deck, and there's plenty of sunshine. There's a lot to love.

However, all good things come to an end. Resorts have projected their most likely closing dates.

Alta Ski Area - April 17 closure - Reopen April 22, 23, 24 with Collins, Sunnyside & Wildcat
