In early June, about 1,000 high school seniors are expected to take part in commencement exercises.

About 300 Valley High seniors will graduate at 10 a.m. on Wednesday, June 1 at Real Salt Lake Academy, 15787 Academy Parkway. No tickets are required.

Principal Jacinto Peterson will speak and Jordan Board of Education board member Jen Atwood and Jordan School District Administrator of Middle Schools Cody Curtis will be in attendance. Valley vice principals Mindy Lokey and Tyler Jones will be presenting scholarships and awards.

There will be three student speakers, a student emcee and a student leading the Pledge of Allegiance.

Bingham High School will hold its commencement exercises for about 700 students at 9 a.m. on Thursday, June 2 at Utah Valley University’s UCCU Arena, 800 W. University Parkway, Orem.

Jordan School District Associate Superintendent Mike Anderson, Jordan Board of Education member Bryce Dunford and Bingham Principal Rodney Shaw will be speaking at the ceremony honoring the class of 2022. The school Madrigals and acapella choirs are expected to perform.

The commencement theme comes from poet and activist Amanda Gordman: “And so we lift our gazes not to what stands between us, but what stands before us.”
