Doctors say getting a good night’s sleep is important, which it is. That being said, this South Jordan resident is very happy that laughter definitely works as well.
Pam Bostwick has written over 200 published articles and books. Her writing has given her a sense of accomplishment and been an outlet as she deals with her physical challenges. Her story, “Disabled and Delighted” has been chosen to be included in the new book “Chicken Soup for the Soul: I Can’t Stop Laughing.”
She has written for a long time and was pleased about the invitation to be in this book.
“I’m visibly and hearing impaired, and writing helps in healing and it helps other people,” Bostwick said. “That’s why I write. We do it because we have something inside of us.”
The “Chicken Soup for the Soul” series began with this in mind. Most people enjoy visits and the anecdotes shared with others. When friends or family aren’t available, these books can provide entertainment and fill an emotional void. Being alone with a good book is preferred by many and they are the perfect audience for the “Chicken Soup” books.
“I was delighted to have been chosen to be included in the newest ‘Chicken Soup’ book,” said Bostwick of the April 28 publishing. “I had my articles that I’ve written for years compiled and published in a book called “The Power of Faith” and that’s available on Amazon.”
The “Chicken Soup” publicity said, “Laughter is truly the best medicine, and this book is your prescription. Turn off the news, stop all that scrolling and bring some sunshine back into your life. Let’s celebrate our ability to laugh at ourselves! This new book from “Chicken for the Soul” includes great storytellers sharing the mishaps and misadventures of everyday life."
Bostwick was born in Salt Lake City and later lived in Oregon for many years. She moved back to her birthplace and for a time lived in Utah County. Her life has had its twists and turns, which has deepened and enriched her writing ability. Following the old adage to ‘write what you know,’ that’s exactly what she does. She is very grateful her latest move brought her to live in Daybreak.
“I love Daybreak and live in the Garden Park community and go to the lake everyday and listen to the water. I also love listening to any of their outdoor concerts. Then, I put my feet in the grass to be grounded,” she said. “I love my balcony and go out there every day – I love the sun and light.”
