In The Know: What's Next for the Point of the Mountain

Over the last several years, Envision Utah has collected public input to identify both the challenges and opportunities that exist at the Point of the Mountain. They have identified 12 key signature elements the public hopes to see in the development of the area.

They include:

1. Deep, Diverse, and Highly-Trained Workforce

2. Improved Air Quality and Reduced Natural Resource Use

3. Connected Network of Trails , Parks, and Open Space

4. Vibrant Urban Center

5. Jobs Close to Where People Live

6. Variety of Community and Housing Types

7. New North-South Boulevard

8. Connected Street Network

9. World-Class Public Transportation

10. North-South and East-West Throughput

11. Catalytic Job Core & Urban Center at the Prison Site

12. National Recognized Research & University Presence

Alan Matheson was recently hired as the Executive Director of the Point of the Mountain State Land Authority and has been charged with the task of executing on this grand vision. Join us as we hear from Alan and Draper Mayor Troy Walker about what’s next for the Point of the Mountain and the important steps and coordinated efforts being taken to ensure this becomes a world class development.
